Borehole & Beyond / Fault-finding
Fault-finding
A methodical approach to problems with pumps, controls, pressure, flow and associated water systems.

A practical approach
Find the cause. Plan the fix.
When a system stops behaving as it should, replacing parts without a diagnosis can miss the underlying issue. We work through the symptoms and installation details to identify a sensible way forward.
- Start with the symptoms and the history of the system.
- Investigate the supply, controls and connected equipment.
- Explain the findings and discuss practical remedial work.
What to send when a system develops a fault
A photograph of the controller, the pump or controller model and a description of the symptoms are useful starting points. Note when the problem began and whether pressure or flow has changed. You can send visible alarm details by WhatsApp without opening electrical covers.
